I attended a talk at my university about career opportunities at TDIC, which is every engineer’s dream place to work. I applied because I knew they had experts in the field of architecture. I first joined the company's Tamkeen programme as a Graduate Development Trainee. During the first year, I rotated between various departments.
My first rotation was in delivery. I worked on the Saadiyat projects and more specifically the museums, such as Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. I was especially excited to work directly with Jean Nouvel, the architect of Louvre Abu Dhabi.
I joined TDIC F&B as project management associate last year to assist in managing the retail projects for design, permitting and construction of projects. I am progressing well in my field to become professional. I'm becoming increasingly confident in my own ability to manage people and situations. I liked that all of the hard work paid off and the more effort I put in my work, the more appreciated and trusted I was by the team.
I really want to keep progressing to become an expert at TDIC. I already feel that my opinion is taken into consideration and I am making a difference. I enjoy working with the high profile engineers on the TDIC projects and like the idea that the harder you work, the more opportunities you get to move forward in your career.
I have now been promoted from a Project Management Associate to Senior Project Executive. I recommend TDIC for those who like to work on great projects in an environment where everyone’s opinion counts.
